Nerves are setting in....

Getting pretty nervous about this whole labour thing I must admit. I was quite blase about it before but now it's so close and a lot more real, I can safely say that I am bricking it. Trying to stay relaxed and calm about it but the whole head coming out part keeps playing on my mind. Gotta happen I know and it's a much better option that being sliced open, and obviously it's a very natural thing which happens all the time and blah blah blah. Still trying to convince myself that I'll be able to stick to the plan and have a natural birth (preferably water). Ahem. Can't quite imagine what the pain is going to be like although I'm sure it will be - well, painful.

So now there are only 6.5 weeks to go and we still haven't sorted out much stuff. There is a baby shower coming up which is very kindly being held by Ali and Izzy at Izzy's house. Just an excuse to have a party really but I am really looking forward to it. Within the next 3 weeks I am meant to have packed my hospital bag full of the essentials, most of which I have yet to buy. We need to buy your pushchair (I think I've found the one) but according to your Nanny, it's bad luck to buy it before you're born so we have to find out if we can pay for it and get your daddy to pick it up once you're born. Also need a moses basket for you to sleep in (otherwise known as a Jesus cage by one of your more eccentric aunties!)...the list seems to be endless. Need to get our skates on I think. Good reason to shop.

I am sure the next entry will be even more panicked and, if possible, we may even be less organised than now. So much fun! I have to remember to post some belly pictures too...

9 weeks till lift off...

We're already at week 31 - I have no idea where all the time has gone. The last 23 weeks have flown by and now we're nearly at the point where we can meet you. It all seems very surreal but I am getting very excited.

Your Daddy and I just got back from our last grown up holiday in Kos, Greece. You didn't like flying much and I must admit I didn't really like it either (I normally love it). It was quite funny when I tried to bring my table down for the meal and it got stuck on my belly. It was great to get away and relax in the sun for a couple of weeks.

We had an antenatal class and a tour of the delivery rooms and the birth centre the other day. I think I want a water birth (very cool disco balls above the tubs) and am planning on having you as naturally as possible but obviously we'll have to go with the flow and see what happens. Got to start making a birthing plan, buying moses basket, cot, push chair...very expensive business having a baby! I'm sure it will all be worth it though.

We can't wait to meet you and have found a new game to play with you. Daddy like putting his head on my tummy to make you kick his face and when you stick out a foot (we think that's what it is) he tickles it and you move it away. He also heard your heartbeat through my tummy the other day which he was very happy about - I think I would have to be a contortionist to attempt that one!

I'm going to email H and make her do an entry now - she's being a bad godmother and neglecting you!
